East Cottage

Even the smallest of spaces can get the best D.G. Clifton & Son treatment, as shown here at East Cottage. When designing a kitchen that is on the tight side, it is important that all available space is practically utilised with space saving solutions such as the magic corner and pull-out cupboards, pull-out tray and tea towel rail to either side of the Neff oven, and built-in microwave. The wall cupboards are painted in Farrow & Ball's beautifully bright "Wimbourne White", which makes the space appear larger and reflects natural light onto the much darker "Stiffkey Blue" painted base cabinetry. All doors and drawer fronts are fitted with Pewter cup pulls and knobs, and the beaded end panels tie in with the style of the boiler cupboard on the other side of the dining table. The oiled Oak worktop and glass splashback in "Metallic Copper" bring warmth to the otherwise cool toned room, while the rounded bullnose cornice, Villeroy & Boch Farmhouse sink and curved Lansdown Clarendon bridge mixer tap add a softness to this traditional Shaker style kitchen.
