Chiddingfold

This kitchen in our Chiddingfold project needed some clever design work to incorporate all the original architectural features. The ceiling height wall cabinets had to be sympathetic to the uneven textures on the walls and ceiling, as well as the aged oak beams. All kitchen cabinets are hand crafted in a Shaker style with recessed panels and painted in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Purbeck Stone’, a light grey, to highlight the natural, rustic wooden doors and beams. The glazed dresser is painted in Little Greene’s ‘Basalt’, a very dark and deep blue/black which brings a contrasting smartness to the farmhouse kitchen aesthetic. For hardware, the client chose a brushed satin nickel finish on Crofts & Assinder’s ‘Chicago’ pull handles, and a matching Franke ‘Filterflow Olympus’ tap with separate rinse spray attachment. The base cabinets continue to flow around the corner to the family breakfast area to conceal a fuse box and offer the client ideal storage for cutlery and tableware
